John Whildin (sounds like Will-din) is a singer-songwriter whose music is driven by sharp storytelling, warm acoustic grooves, and timeless pop craft.
A veteran of Chicago’s independent music scene, John spent years writing and performing alongside an extraordinary community of musicians before gradually finding his own quieter path.
Today, you'll most often find him performing intimate acoustic sets throughout northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin. His sets mix familiar songs, overlooked deep cuts, and original music shaped by decades of living, listening, and writing.
Whether performing solo at a neighborhood listening room or returning to longtime lakefront venues, John values connection over spectacle. His sets reflect the belief that some of life's most meaningful moments arrive quietly, and that the best way to experience music is live in a room.
